“She heard a voice in her ears: 'Be careful, lest you want me to fulfill your material desires, and take away your desire for me. Material desires and the desire for me cannot exist within the same heart.'”

- Attar, "Rabi'a"

“Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: You don't give up. ”

- Anne Lamott

“A man should not act as a judge either for someone he loves or for someone he hates. For no man can see the guilt of someone he loves or the good qualities in someone he hates.”

- Babylonian Talmud, tractate Ketubbot
